Pupils and teachers at school had a great day - thank you!!
The [Bath-bombs & Bubble-bath] workshops were great being hands on and the children were all able to take something home which they had made on their own!

On behalf of the staff at Haymerle School I would like to thank Gareth for the fantastic day of [Sensory Day] fun and workshop activities.
The staff team have given high praise regarding the days events and have been inspired to think of how to include some of the activities into their own plans and work with the children.
We were interested to hear about the possibility of other workshops and training events for the staff as well.
We hope to invite Gareth back in the future.

The children really enjoyed the [Eco-Electricity] workshop on Friday and it was a super starting point to our electricity unit with lots of 'wow' moments.
Here are just a few quotes from the children;
'I loved using the fans because it left me with lots of questions'
'I really liked using the fruit batteries as I didn't know you could put copper and zinc in a lemon and it would make electricity'
'I really enjoyed the buzzer and radio section because you connected it and then all you did was put it next to the light and ta-da it works! It's like magic but it's not.'

The Sensory Day that Dr Gareth Francis ran at our school was really great. The resources and experiments engaged all the pupils and the fact they were able to be hands on with all the resources made the learning meaningful for them.
Dr Gareth himself was great with the children and the flexible approach of Working Science made the sessions work for our pupils.
The day has given us lots of ideas and inspiration for our own Science teaching.
Many thanks for a great day!

The children and staff who took part in the bath-bomb and perfume making workshops thoroughly enjoyed it and it was just perfect to watch the whole school erupt in squeals of delight during the assembly. It really helped make our whole school science week a memorable one.

My 9 year old daughter, thoroughly enjoyed her science party run by Working Science. Gareth was very enthusiastic and arrived with all the materials required to do loads of exciting things. He managed to keep 16 girls totally amused for 2 hours and bonded very well with the children. Many mums have said to me at school how much their daughter enjoyed the party. I would highly recommend him for a fun hands on party.

[Sensory Science Day] All teachers at school agreed that it was a fantastic day and all children were able to access the activities set out. The children had many new experiences and enjoyed looking at colours and watching rockets explode off into the air. It really created a sense of awe, and embedded all the learning they have done so far on the topics of light and dark and colours.

We had a fantastic day when Gareth joined us for our [Sensory] science day. The staff and pupils loved the practical nature of the day. Gareth was able to pitch the sessions to the right level for the children and the visual nature of the sessions kept the children engaged. The children enjoyed the rockets with vinegar and bicarbonate soda and some were even verbalising words that they had heard from the sessions. The staff have had lots of ideas that they will be able to use in science lessons. " When you told me it was a science day I thought 'Oh no!' but wow that was so much fun the children loved it." We would definitely recommend Working Science and look forward to working with you in the future.

Science Club

If you are interested in having an Afterschool Science Club in your school. Ask your school to get in touch with us.

Each week we do practical science experiments covering different aspects of science, from electricity generation to making slime and perfumes.

There is no lower limit to the number of children but 15 is a good manageable number of children in each session.

Our Afterschool Science clubs run for 1 hour after school one day a week.

Our afterschool clubs in Newick Primary, Shipbourne Primary, Claremont Primary and Buxted Primary Schools have all been well attended and enjoyed by the children.
